What is NCCER?

The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), created in 1996, is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) education foundation. NCCER was developed with the support of more than 125 construction CEOs, and various association and academic leaders to create a standardized training and credentialing program for the construction industry.

Why is NCCER important to you?

Earning NCCER’s industry-recognized credentials means you, having undergone approved training, and have met the standards set by the NCCER. Your universally recognized credentials in your craft represent a national portability of your skills.

Additionally, NCCER manages credentialing and certification through its Registry System, which assists craft trainees and professionals by maintaining their records in a secure database.

NCCER also drives multiple initiatives to enhance career development and recruitment efforts for the industry, primarily through its Build Your Future initiative.

Why is NCCER important to employers?

Many organizations and companies track the qualifications of their craft professionals and possible new hires through NCCER’s Registry System. Those with NCCER credentials may be more desirable to potential employers.

What is Welding?

Welding is the process of using extreme heat to combine two or more pieces of metal. There are various welding processes to learn for different projects and career paths. For example, cutting metal is just as much a part of welding as fusing pipes are, and depending on the project, you may need different welding methods.

What is Combination Welding?

Being a combination welder means that you’re a welder who understands two or more different welding processes and can apply them to various projects. At STVT, you can learn the welding processes to practice combination welding, a skill that can set you apart from other welders who may only be proficient in one area.

Why Should You Learn Combination Welding?

As things continue to be made from metal, welders will remain a necessity. This makes welding an ideal trade to learn for people who enjoy hands-on work in a field that’s needed for many industries. Combination welding is simply the natural extension of learning to weld, and by having these skills you will have a comprehensive understanding of additional types of welding.

Combination welding is an invaluable skill that people interested in construction, technology, and engineering should consider learning. The facility where you will train is an important factor, too. Try to determine if the school has industry-current welding bays and the instructors have the appropriate credentials and experience to teach the trade. Consider if there is a focus on safety and protocol within the labs.

Why Choose STVT For Combination Welding?

In most fields, doing the work the correct way is important not only to have a long and promising career; it may also be required to keep yourself and the people around you safe. Combination welding is an excellent field to explore and grow in, but it can also be especially dangerous and complicated. Working with extreme temperatures, sharp metal, and powerful tools requires proper knowledge, and this knowledge can be learned from a school that cares about teaching you to do things properly. If you’re looking for a good welding school in Texas, then you’re looking for STVT.

At STVT, we want you to learn the skills to succeed in the fields that you’re interested in. In our combination welding program, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the processes and skills to perform the work  safely and confidently. Welding is a field that can be difficult to learn, and a lot of the experience will come from doing hands-on work. STVT can offer such an experience in a safe environment, allowing you to learn and prepare you to apply for entry level positions right after graduation.

Whether you’re looking for a career as a combination welder or are simply considering your options, remember that STVT is prioritizing our student’s education and ability above all else. We can help you learn the trades, emphasizing safety and personalized learning paths while preparing you to enter into the career you want with the skills and knowledge for success.
