Are you interested in a rewarding welding career? Then let STVT help you develop the skills necessary to become an entry-level combination welder in less than a year! Our combination welding (CW) diploma program offers flexible scheduling and hands-on skills training in this exciting field.
Our program is taught by professional instructors in simulated work environments to help you develop the hands-on experience as well as equipment and shop safety skills that employers seek. The CW course of study is designed to equip students with skills and knowledge in shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), and flux core arc welding (FCAW).
The CW graduate will be qualified for entry-level employment in building construction, shipbuilding, manufacturing, gas and oil field services, and as welding operators. Students must possess a high school diploma, GED or recognized equivalent. Non-high school graduates or students who do not possess appropriate equivalency may be admitted under ability to benefit (ATB) criteria with a minimum score of Verbal-200 and Quantitative-210 on the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test.

The On-time Graduation Rate is a calculation which demonstrates, based on the number of students who graduate within the 2009-2010 award year, the percentage of those students who completed their educational program on time based on the published program length (in weeks). The published program length assumes a student is attending full-time and passes each class without being required to repeat any courses. Students not attending full time are required to repeat a class, are not counted as graduating on time.
On-time Graduation Rate: 96% (Day), 100% (Evening)
Median Loan Debt:
The Median Loan Debt calculation is based on the median debt incurred in Title IV Federal Student Aid Loans (Subsidized and Unsubsidized) and Private Loans incurred by students who graduated from their educational program in the 2009-2010 award year. In addition, we provide the median amount graduates owed the school (school balance) at the time the student graduated from the educational program. This data is intended to provide prospective students, and the public, with the median amount a student can be expected to repay upon completing the program.

COE
All placement rates disclosed were reported to COE in the 2010 annual report.
The placement rates are determined by dividing the total number of graduates employed in the field of study and non‐graduate completers into the total number of graduate completers and non‐grad completers.
Graduates employed in the field of study are defined as any graduate that has obtained employment in their field of study, has entered the military or has continued their education.
Non non‐graduate completers are defined as any student who left the program without a credential for employment in their field of study.
Graduate completers are defined as any student the met graduation requirements and received a credential.
Graduates completers are not included in the calculation if they are considered unavailable for employment as defined by COE to include death, medical reasons, pregnancy or refusal of employment.
